NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS
Wow it really has been a while since I’ve clocked on. What has been happening? Well, I’ve moved from Hobart to Launceston to further my career in fashion with Yeltuor. I'm managing the flagship boutique. Coming home to your roots can be difficult when you've spent the last six years gaining independence. But something about this position makes me feel settled, challenged and inspired.
I find myself thinking about all these things in particularly at the beginning of the year. I think it must have something to do with me being a Capricorn and the need for structure and organisation. Every year I write myself a list of goals 'new year’s resolutions'. I'm not entirely sure why I do it but I think it’s because it gives me a challenge, it provides a benchmark for myself. It is a terrific feeling once you get to the end of the year and realise you've achieved what you wanted. So this year my list is quite long, let’s be honest I’m a perfectionist, some have even said I’m my own worst enemy. But i can live with that.
So this year my resolutions are as follows:
-Travel Overseas: save money, research places to go. (I’ve never been out of Australia)
-De- clutter: (Working in fashion retail for over ten years equals unnecessary items that are forever expanding)
-Improve Health: (I swear last year was my year of shit health, which resulted in a 4kg weight gain, so exercising, healthy eating, allergy testing is on the cards)
-Friendships and relationships: (make an effort, visit friends and family interstate, be a considerate girlfriend because I’m stubborn as hell)
So that's my list. I think it's pretty achievable. I can't believe I didn't list any work related goals but i guess at the moment I’m content and as for my plans for my future well they can stay upstairs.
Even if I never look at these goals, i know that they are there and for some reason that makes me feel motivated and inspired.
