WET LOOK VAMP

This entry is the follow up result to Saturday Night Fever. Below are the pictures step by step of how my look came together for the night. The event my girlfriend and i went to was a sports memorabila auction and dinner to raise money for the Tasmanian bushfire appeal. It was a fantastic night that raised over $32,000 which was a great achievement and it was amazing to be a part of it. Hope you like the finished product!
The essentials for this look.
I started with a good base, defined brows and dry hair.
I then followed up with a smokey eye and black liquid eyeliner. I used a gel with strong hold for the wet look hair style, you need quite alot. Then brush the remainder to keep it neat.
I'm a big fan of a blue red lip, i coated the lip with a marykay lipstick, then added gloss and blotted.
I poured myself into my Rachel Gilbert dress, strapped on the tony bianco platforms, added a sportsgirl cuff and zushoes studded bag.
This look requires a serious expression, or so i thought haha
My gorgeous bestie Jess, i look like a midget beside her!

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

It’s Saturday afternoon and I’m feeling a little weathered from the night before. But when in Rome, or Hobart as I am, it’s time to harden up and get some second wind. Tonight we are raising money for the Tasmanian bushfires, an auction dinner on the waterfront. The look i'm wanting to go for is sexy, vampish and a little fifty shades.
Red lips, red nails, bog brows and i'll add a soft smokey eye and liquid eyeliner.
This gorgeous leather peplum dress is a Rachel Gilbert design from work at Yeltuor.
The hardest part of the look, wet look hair, i've got hair gel, bobby pins and i'll have my fingers crossed. I'll add some sky high heels a studded bag. Stay tuned for the end result. Erin x

MULTITASKING

Last night I read a great article, it really made me stop and think about the way I live my life. It was the latest Madison magazine and it was about multitasking and why it isn’t healthy. The female was trying to cut out multi tasking in her day to day life to see if it could actually make her life more productive, enjoyable and fulfilled. - - It spoke about the need to finish something you start and not to switch to another task because it leaves you behind in time and productivity. To try turning your phone off when you walk in the door, so you can have conversations and relaxation without the interference of social media, work and technology. That it is important to place your feet on the ground and gather your thoughts that seem to race around your head because although it isn’t physical it is still multitasking. - - I thought about my own lifestyle and thought, oh my god that’s me. I’m the girl that sits on the couch painting my nails, watching tv and conversing with my boyfriend all at the same time. I’ve started checking instagram as soon as I wake up, surely I have better things to look/ think about. Gosh I get ready for work, have a pout in the mirror and take a picture, it’s addictive I know but surely I can be more productive with my time. I had a birthday lunch with my dad and checked my instagram whilst eating a lovely meal. I’ll drive, talk and check my makeup, the list goes on. - - So this morning when I got up to get ready for work I was very conscious of my own efficiency. I had a shower and did my makeup straight away, then made breakfast and packed my lunch, then packed all my bags, got dressed etc etc. And even though I had the same routine I do most days, I was more conscious of the way I did it. I didn’t do one thing and run to the other, check my phone, internet, instagram in between. It actually made me realise how much of my day I’m wasting on technology. I mean I have a life to live, friends and family to see, a relationship to be a part of, a store to run and I have dreams beyond what my current life consists of. - - So maybe you should try to cut out a bit of your multi tasking and time wasting, you’ll be surprised in what you achieve.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

Wow it really has been a while since I’ve clocked on. What has been happening? Well, I’ve moved from Hobart to Launceston to further my career in fashion with Yeltuor. I'm managing the flagship boutique. Coming home to your roots can be difficult when you've spent the last six years gaining independence. But something about this position makes me feel settled, challenged and inspired. I find myself thinking about all these things in particularly at the beginning of the year. I think it must have something to do with me being a Capricorn and the need for structure and organisation. Every year I write myself a list of goals 'new year’s resolutions'. I'm not entirely sure why I do it but I think it’s because it gives me a challenge, it provides a benchmark for myself. It is a terrific feeling once you get to the end of the year and realise you've achieved what you wanted. So this year my list is quite long, let’s be honest I’m a perfectionist, some have even said I’m my own worst enemy. But i can live with that. So this year my resolutions are as follows: -Travel Overseas: save money, research places to go. (I’ve never been out of Australia)
-De- clutter: (Working in fashion retail for over ten years equals unnecessary items that are forever expanding)
-Improve Health: (I swear last year was my year of shit health, which resulted in a 4kg weight gain, so exercising, healthy eating, allergy testing is on the cards)
-Friendships and relationships: (make an effort, visit friends and family interstate, be a considerate girlfriend because I’m stubborn as hell)
So that's my list. I think it's pretty achievable. I can't believe I didn't list any work related goals but i guess at the moment I’m content and as for my plans for my future well they can stay upstairs. Even if I never look at these goals, i know that they are there and for some reason that makes me feel motivated and inspired.
